i get really pissed off when these alpha females (yes , usually only females) try to dominate the whole tutorial by fighting to answer questions, asking questions and being plain inconsiderate of other people WHO ARE ACTUALLY IN CLASS WITH THEM!

(they do this coz there's class particapation marks awarded for our law seminars)

In Wednesday's Physics lecture, as usual, people were getting restless with the lecturer. Suddenly about 3/4 of the way in, someone near the top chucks about 6 paper planes at once. They all fly off in different directions but one flies straight down and turns right, banking right behind her and flying behind her back. Everyone cracked up laughing and at first she had no clue what the hell was happening but smiled to play along. When she realised she said on Monday's lecture, we'd have a break where we could chuck paper planes and she'd pick the best design!
Haha now everyone on Monday is gonna do nothing but fold planes. :p

There is a girl in two of my tutorials that does this, so I just try and speak before her and argue with her and disagree on everything I can:lol:.

the only thing that i get annoyed at so far is that the kids in the chem. lectures are always asking (usually stupid) questions (without asking them at the tute.) and hence, the lecture goes on abt. the questions for ages, and then we don't even cover the work that we were meant to b covering!!

i guess with my bio lectures, it annoys me when people ask questions, but they dont really have any choice, we dont have bio tutes, only labs, which dont really follow the lecture material all that well.

alpha females are alright as long as they can admit they are wrong
yes, they do, rather reluctantly, when they realise that they just got hammered by the tutor, whos been specialising in the criminal courts for 11 years and teaching for a few.....LoL :p

actually, one girl was argiung with the tutor (who is also the head lecturer for our foundation law sbject) about why she "knew" that the Territories in australia can make their own laws about health or something like that. she went on to say that section 109 was the only avenue the commonwealth could take to amend/repeal/dismiss current territory legislation if the "state" law was conflicting/contravening commonwealth law (s 109)
the only problem was that, she was failing to realise that s122 (i think) states that federal parliment has the overiding ability to make or break any laws within a TERRITORY.

so anyway, putting all the legal crap aside... the girls still thought she was correct, so the tutor takes out the constitution and corrects her.....this took like an hour to settle, and she still isnt convinced???????

Uh... In my 'Modern European History 1750-1914' Tutorial, we were required to make awkward small talk with the person next to us, and then introduce them to the class. Unfortunately, I misheard the name of the person I was talking, and said the wrong name. How embarassment..

More uplifting however, was my 'Inventing Modernity' tutorial, in which my nerdy preperatory reading paid off.. You see, we were going through each of the texts which can be chosen for oral presentations, and it turned out that I was the only person in the room, including the tutor who had actually read 'Goblin Market'..Which lead to me having to detail the plot and make a couple of points about it to all and sundry. Quite good.

well i was waiting for someone b4 a lecture- but i had forgotten wat she looked like cos i hadn't seen her since the week b4 (and i'm not very observant) so neway, i was waiting for her and waiting for her.....then i saw a familiar face and said 'hi'. she said 'hi' back and i figured 'this must be the girl i'm meeting'. so i said 'did u get lost?' and she goes - confused- 'me??'

anyway, i follow her inside, afraid that if it IS the girl i'm waiting for she'd ask why i wasnt going wiv her.....we then get inside and she goes up and says hi to someone and sits next to them......then i remember that the girl i was meeting didnt no anyone else....

so i go back outside and then i see another familiar face, and this time i'm pretty sure it was the girl i was waiting for....she mentioned the sms she sent me so i knew.......how embarressing!

btw- the first girl that i recognised was in one of my tutes...i didnt say anything to her..i felt soo stoopid....
