I go for the gold, guys go for the vagina. Men and women use each other.
They also like to use euphemisms. Is anybody else mildly unsettled?

I want to see what happens if Mr Rolex turns out to be gay.

Duh, why try for grades when all you need is an internet connection
plus its not like law balls/ med balls are only for med/law students you just have to buy a ticket

I think that university exclusivity does come into play when employers are choose who to employ. Take advertising for example:
____
Guy/Girl A - Bachelor of Communications [Advertising] @ The University of Canberra.

Guy/Girl B - Bachelor of Arts - Communications [Advertising] @ CSU, Bathurst.
____

Guy/Girl B has more of a chance of being chosen because the Advertising course at CSU is considered to be one of the best in Australia. Its an exclusive course that holds exclusive oppurtunities upon completion. Only 25 [approx.] people are accepted into it each year.

The same would apply for other high end careers such as Law, Accounting, Fashion Design, etc.

thanks, my uai wasn't as bad, i was off by like 1 for B ScIT at UTS, and i prefer a more relaxing life than a strenuous life, hence my decision UWS > USYD; plus the higher demand for the UWS course. In addition the course topics (or w/e u call it) at UWS happens to appeal more to me than USYD.

I just want to also put forward the question, what are the chances of an employer knowing which course would be in greater demand? or would they just follow the mainstream ideals of uni? (USYD IS TEH BEST)

LOL

UAI <> demand or prestige for a course.

you look at supply of places, median UAIs and average uai's, std deviation of UAI's to get the full picture.

e.g if UWS has only 50 places for UWS IT, then some people with a relative high UAI may say ok i dont care i'll go to UWS anyways coz its close or what not.

Also most peoples UAI at UWS may congregate around the cut-off

On the other hand say Sydney Uni has 200 places, then the Average UAI may well be 90, despite the lowest UAI being say 70.

end of day UAI's change yearly, an employer in 2011 will not look up the UAI for 2008 and say oh he chose a course that had a UAI > than at sydney, therfore we should employ him.

not to mention most people who would go to UWS would get that "i live in a bogan area" bonus points. so take that away, and the cutoff would drop a further 3-4 points. picture become clearer now doesnt it.

you sound like you have suitable intellect to be a UWS student so i do suggest you go there.

Thats more based on course exclusivity rather than uni. Sure the CSU Advertising course is really good, but CSU is probably on par with UWS in terms of uni exclusivity. I'm sure UWS specialises in certain courses more than other universities. Also, UTS is probably the best uni for Graphic design but USYD is better than UTS in terms of exclusivity.

Hey, Newcastle does this too. Are you going to hate on Newcastle becuase it offers incentives for local students? Has it occured to you that UWS is a university for the population of western Sydney to try and build their skills and contribute to it's economy. It's the same with Newcastle.

In the end just choose te uni that suits what you want better than the others. If the UWS lifestyle is for you, go for it and don't listen to the misinformed opinions of people who have not even started uni yet :)

Guess you can always do like 3 years of a 4 year course at UWS, then transfer.... Might take you an extra 2 years cause of subject discrepencies. but meh, If you really wanto to have USYD or UNSW on your degree you can do it..

Because you have people like Boris making comments on your Uni's behalf. Life is a bitch, get used to it.

EDIT - and the UAI cutoff for many courses is about 60....
