I know, its terrible! My english teacher is saying im quite tallented at writing and that my poor spelling is doing my work a diservice. Why, WHY WHY!

I would also reccommed that you look into the math and physics olympiad if your really good at both:

If you reach National level or beyond and do well in the hsc you will probably be able to enter into the B Sci ADV talented students program at Usyd and recieve advanced standing, etc.

Early Admission applicants may be admitted to the Bachelor of Science degree program, the Bachelor of Arts or Social Science degree program, or to individual courses offered within these degree programs. Admission is not offered to professional programs or courses, such as those offered in the Faculties of Medicine or Law.

So does this mean i can do advanced (pure) mathematics at Uni through early entry?

Yeah, should be able to do pure math, but as Dish said before, you'll still need to do some other sciences. There certainly aren't enough first year math for you to fill up the entire year(I would recommend some physics and computing courses).

I understand the need for a challenge intellectually, but why not keep doing the HSC mixed in with some gifted and talented program ie olympiads/CSIRO research scheme etc. This way you can still enjoy the social life of your age group... Plus you can go to the University of Syd, and possibly score yourself some nice scholarship for being smart

I do not get picked on,and most certainly i am not a tosser!!!

Try put yourself im my situation, I currently live near coffs harbour. And i will definitly be going to a university in Sydney. So i can either stay till year 12 then leave, or stay till year 10 then leave, in the end, im gonna leave.

And Besides, i would rather socialise with people at my intelectual and maturity level, instead of most of these year 9 neanderthals!

So in the end, it would appear in my best interest to go to uni early, and that suggestion about olympiads, although it does sound interesting, its most likely not avaliable in this area, nor is any gifted and talented programs besides acceleration.

And as i have previously commented, If i give up math for a year, i will lose interest and wont get a job in any other profession because i dont have any other profession. At least if i go to uni i can satify my thurst for knowledge and retain a social life.

All though Terrence Tao went to uni earlier (way way earlier) he still retained some form of social life, so it cant be to bad.

So uni seams to be the go for now

Actually i have a whole group of friends at HS! And ive had had quite a good amount of friends throughout primary school! And there pritty good friends to, its just most of us are going to go to uni somewhere else

Please don't assume, the first year physics courses (heck I'd never do physics in my life, this is just what i've heard) require HSC physics knowledge, which I doubt you'll have that's why I meant you should just go normal. Also, the average mark is like a phail or something XD

Oh, and, from my point of view, there's no point in going ahead if you're not going to get a good mark, yes, you may have fun, but it's just decreasing your eventual mark in the future, on your resumes and stuff. By the time you're like 70, what's another 2 years of school? hehe

How about sit the hsc and hit up the ESL english course.

What i ment by "i can do physics" is that i started learning HSC/prelim HSC half way through the year and find it easy, and intend to do it at uni. I have also looked at the video lectures for 1st year uni from MIT and the mechanics is easy. But the Electricity and Magnitism was slightly more harder as it used some PDEs and other 1st year uni math (which i havent learnt...yet).

And what you said "heck I'd never do physics in my life, this is just what i've heard", last year a year 11 student approched me and said "how can you do year 11/HSC physics, i dropped physics because its so hard!" And from that i think that maybe some people want to learn/get it, and some dont get it. I dont know?

But i dont intend to skip every 2nd year, its just when i get to year 12 mathematics and physics i will just go at that normal pace.

As you know, year 7-10 math is pritty much a bludge, year 11 math you have to work harder and in year 12 math is usually enjoyable, or at least thats what my math teacher said to our class last year.

Oh, and, from my point of view, there's no point in going ahead if you're not going to get a good mark, yes, you may have fun, but it's just decreasing your eventual mark in the future, on your resumes and stuff.

It would be imorral if i didnt get a good mark, and also immoral for me to accelerate with a good mark! But in saying that, i did get a pritty bad mark in the year 9 test i took, i only got 85% , i was so shocked! But this mark is justifiable as i have this problems in important tests, i will have to fix it some how, i get really hot and nevious, people where standing around me asking me what i was doing and making me nervious, i sware i almost blacked out, it was horrible, i forgot everything and went into a state of failure. To sum up my "illness" (if you will), i get really, really nervious for no reason!

So i'll have to not get nervious :S Do you know of any methods

But anyway, I will see how i go

Get some practice at sitting exams. Final exams for most courses are worth 40-80% of your mark(usually 60% or so)

and yeah, hsc physics isn't really comparable to uni physics, they took out the hard stuff years ago when they got rid of the extension 2 physics syllabus.
