Better than I thought, I felt like I flunked the finals with that first question. Rest of the course was pretty easy though. What were your thoughts?Thoughts on entities?
Nice work! How do you guys think about COMP1521? A couple of my friends are gonna do it next year and they're pretty worried (they're doing elec eng but COMP1921 no long exists so they have to do 1521)T2 COMP1521 Computer Systems Fundamentals....97 HD

I was 50.15 pre exam mark and ended up with 87 for fins1612 (81.8% in finals). Im pretty sure it was due to the last 2 questions, the option diagram one and the futures one. Pretty sure the majority of students will have thought they did it right but misinterpreted the question and ended up getting carry forward marks, not to mention there were at least 5 tricky mc questions that werent from the lecture/textbook at all========================================================

Did anyone else get an extremely lower than expected FINS1612 mark? I was sitting at a 48.95/55 pre-exam mark which means I got around 67% for my final exam.
At the moment, it is very much programming based (lower level programming too). About half the course is in C code (assumed knowledge) and a quarter is MIPS Assembly code (not assumed knowledge). Nothing really sticks out as being tailored towards electrical engineers, except possibily the bitwise operations like AND, OR, NOT and XOR (and even then gates were never mentioned).Nice work! Ahh yup, cheers for the advice!! And sort of surprised to see there's assembly in itAt the moment, it is very much programming based (lower level programming too). I was in a tut with a motivated electrical engineer and he definitely thought it was tough. It will be a difficult semester if they struggled with the basic/intro C programming. I guess it's like Discrete Maths for CompSci, such that most of it will not apply to your degree, but it sounds relevant and can be quite interesting at times.
Great advice from my excellent tutor: learn to use the manual pages ('man') and MIPS reference page. It makes about a quarter of the course open-book: I was able to learn how to do a final exam prac question during the exam.
Think they forgot to include my final exam mark otherwise I must of fked up and forgot to put my name down on the final exam, awaiting email reply by the course coordinatorOn shit is ur wam ok
