Where do the free electives come from? It was my understanding I wasn't allowed them in my duel degree / didn't count.

Yeah it's still using C, and no OOP. First sem comp was 'the art of programming', second sem comp is 'the science of computing'. So there's more of a focus on the science side (i.e. we're scientists who observe, but we're the only ones that can actually change what we're observing). I think the next comp course is then more focused on design.
MapleTA literally tells you what you got wrong BEFORE submitting, so not that big of a deal.
The exercises that you guys in 31/41 have do, but not the quizzes they don't
oh but legit maple is easy, it's just knowing how to use it and very little actual math
