Great link, wow! :uhhuh:

Debating is a big definite, as well as law society, law revue, tennis within the sports association and a jazz band within the music society... but then there are so many others that I'm sure will suck me in with bright advertising at O-week, like the chocolate society. What's not to like about a chocolate society? Or is this far too many groups to join?

None of you are planning on joining the Atheist Society?

Pfft.

Also, note that for every club you join this year, Arc is imposing a $49 membership fee, unless you join for full Arc membership, which is ~$150.

I guess you'd better start re-thinking what clubs you're going to join.
Are you fucking serious? lol. Where did you read about it? (I'm far far too lazy to go searching through the arc website myself).

hmm it really worries me that arc hasn't done anything productive last year, and they are raking in thousands. maybe they have, just that i haven't noticed them.

Just to clear this up, the per-club fee is $40, which is an administration fee, and the full Arc membership is $149 per year. If you join the Arc you don't have to pay the $40 per-club fee.

when do we get to join
O-Week is the best time to join clubs, as they're all out in force on the main walkway, showing off what they have to offer. You can browse around the stalls, see what different clubs do and talk to their members to see if you want to join up. It's also possible to join clubs after O-Week simply by contact the clubs and letting them know you want to join!

Getting involved in clubs and societies on campus is one of the best ways to make the most of your university experience, so don't be afraid to try out a few different ones to see what's right for you.

Now that I know about that $40 per-club fee is... fucking retarded. Now I'm actually considering wasting $149 for arc membership.

Then again, good could come from it eventually I guess...
