Hi all,

Currently I'm in my 2nd semester in my economics degree. So far, I'm enjoying it. However I've noticed that the courses are getting harder, I'm doing ECON2206 right now and I noticed I have to do ANOTHER econometrics subject, Econometrics Methods. Can you guys recommend interesting/useful/easy subjects for an economics and finance major student like me?

1st Semester
ECON1101 Microeconomics 1 - 82
ACCT1501 Accounting 1A - 82
ECON1203 Business and Economics Statistics - 71
ECON1202 Quantitative Analysis - 87
WAM 80.2

2nd Semester
ECON1102 Macroeconomics 1
FINS1612 Capital Markets
ECON1401 Economics Analysis
ECON2206 Introductory to Econometrics

Since you are studying econometrics I believe that ur math should be fair, if not excellent. And since you talk about finance, I recommend u doing fins1613 next sem and taking fins2624 and fins3630 since they are all wam booster.
But seriously, taking courses that u r interested in.

For everyone who has ever taken the UNSW Finance course FINS2624, better known as Portfolio Management, as taught by Henry Yip, and found their WAM was subsequently destroyed by the final exam.

hahahaha that's hilarious.

I still remember we challenged one of his questions in the midsem that it wasn't covered in lectures or required readings and he said it was in one of the footnotes in his book.

2624 is no longer taught by Henry Yip. I did it last sem when it was Joakim Bang and found it pretty easy (just had to read lecture slides). However, this semester they changed lecturers and the format of the course to have like weekly quizzes and stuff.
