Does UNSW have a handbook like USYD's where it has more detail about each subject, and in particular the assessments? Cheers

you'll have to check the course outlines for weightings

ok just compared commerce at unsw and usyd and the only difference i can see in terms of assessment is the lack of class participations/discussions/presentations in usyd commerce. is this necessarily a bad thing?

(in 1st year)

class participation is easy marks.

unsw is i guess more known for having informal class discussion to allow ideas to float around. though you have some classes where its full ownage with no one talking.

I only did ECON this year, but in both Micro and Macro, you do a presentation to the class.
It's good becuase it is easy marks and also becuase it allows you to grasp, in depth, at least one of the weeks of work, if you don't go to lectures or do any catchup work like me.

but who are we to judge which commerce degree is better?

We've only done commerce @ UNSW (well majority of us anyway)
