so when i do trigonometry questions with my teacher i know how to do it, and i amaze myself, because i actually get it right :D
however, when i do questions on my own, i struggle and get mixed up with when i should use Pythagoras, or the sine/cosine rule, and whatever else you can use

so does anyone have a step-by-step guide i can use/follow to help broaden my understanding? because at the moment, i am confident in everything except this triangle nonsense ><

i also have the same problem with the linear relationship (parabola, and i forget the others)

SO if someone could link me something that might explain these in an easy-to-read-and-understand way (the examples in my maths textbook are horrible) or even give me a short summary of when/how/why to apply the rules, i would really appreciate it.

i have the basic understanding of both topics, but the more advanced questions, present in the trial and hsc papers, are the ones that i tend to struggle with :/

if i dont reply within a day, could you please email me at: georgie_antoun@hotmail.com

Thanks!

Wow slow down there, isn't general maths just about substituting the numbers into the formula book they give you?

But whatever;
1) Use Pythagorus theorem when dealing with a triangle with 90° (i.e. Right Angled Triangle)
2) Sine Rule is used to find two things:
i) Find the length of a side, when 2 angles & 1 side is provided.
ii) Find the size of an angle, when 2 sides & 1 angle opposite one of the 2 sides are given.
Seriously like c'mon, look at the formula - it is already giving you the answer.
3) Cosine Rule is used to find two things:
i) Find the length of a side, when 2 sides & the included angle are provided.
ii) Find how big the angle is, when all the sides of the triangle are provided.

By the way the triangle isn't nonsense, they give you everything you need - literally doing general maths is a guarantee Band 6. So stop complaining.

4) Don't say I forgot the others, be more specific.

There ya go!

well if you read what i posted, i said i wanted help, not negative comments.

that did somewhat help, but the tone in which it was delivered in was shocking.
when someone asks for help, you're supposed to be nice about it, not attempt to put them down

goodluck with your exams buddy, and thanks for the negative feedback (and the help, i guess)
