Wouldn't be surprised. There was something on today (National day of action?) with speeches by students association i think and a march to town hall and it was just a handful of people out in front of the tower when i walked past but i could see at least 5 cops standing around.
In my sister's days at UTS there was, I believe she was actually one of the people that stood on Broadway.

Haha nice, i assumed there must have been past incidents considering how many cops were there for what was really nothing (especially with the strike at Usyd)

Yes they constantly block off railway square and broadway.

The anti-VSU protests of 2005-06 were really something else. Take what you've seen with the current protests and multiply it many times over.

This I did not agree with. What if an ambulance or something had to come through?

Though apparently at UTS strike days, protestors have often blocked Broadway.
An ambulance did come through, it had to be rerouted because 100 dickheads were sitting on the road.

Only arts/law students have time for shit like this, no wonder arts faculty keep getting funding cuts. what a joke.
LOL, you're a twerp. I'm both an Arts and a Law student, and I have zero patience for any of this.

"Defend your education"...

ooooh the irony.

I made the right choice to stick with unsw.
I dunno, I was so disappointed that all they were doing when I got to uni was just blocking City Road. Goes to show they don't actually care about getting more people to support them, the sort of antics shown are just those of people who are okay with using force to get what they want.

Totally agree.
It actually really benefited UNE. But that could partially because the union was won by the Young Libs, and they sold everything off to the uni who then had an interest in making a profit off it. So pretty much all the facilities were upgraded and prices actually came down.

To be honest though, he's being a bit of an idiot doing that right in front of the cops.

Serves the dickhead right for walking in front of it as the truck started moving and trying to stop it.
