Put simply,

Valid = results are obtained using methods that correctly and effectively measure what was aimed to measure.

Reliable = similar results may be obtained when the same procedures are repeated.

I remember there was these bullseye diagrams that show the difference between the two as well: when results are reliable, the "shots" are close to each other, and when they are valid, the shots are within close range of the target at the centre.

That reminds me when I was called to the deputy principal's office back in Year 9 regarding my false statement, which also led me to a suspension.

Deputy: You lied. I can trust this person's statement because this person is reliable.

...And accepts that person's statement along was made even more accurate from other statements because they were much moe similar than my statement and then suspension time for meee...

validity: am I measuring what I think I am measuring?

reliability: will someone else obtain the same result as me?
