Hey has anyone heard any news about the vans warped tour in 2005 in Australia. It came came down here in 2002 and i had the time of my life seeing pennywise, mxpx, mighty mighty bosstones, new found glory, guttermouth, the vandals, bodyjar, 28 days, and many other cool bands. When i went to big day out in 2003 it had an ad in the mag saying warped tour coming in 2003, down under, and that never happened. Oh why must they be soooo mean to us Australians, we need punk rock just as much, if not more then anyone.

Anyone know any news.......

Apparently the last time they came out they said they wouldnt be coming out here again for a while because it isnt profitable.

You paid $70. I went in 2002, the last time it was in Australia i only paid $45, i thought that was pretty cheap compared to Big Day Out, homebake, livid and all those festivals.

I went in 2002, paid $70 and then got v. pissed off seeing a whole bunch of guys running from the security guards and jumping the fence in... one was a good friend from school- bastard!!

I think the tour is a load of crap. They had ok bands, but the mosh was, well, not a mosh in the slightest, and the food lines with those ticket vouchers... ugh. never again. My friend and I wanted our money back. And its such a big area (if they're having it on the beach like last time), with one main stage, and two little ones up the back where noone is... they just dont fill it up. Save your money and go to the BDO next year. The bands arent big enough names to justify the money in my opinion.

ok, i went in 2002, at the gold coast parklands, where they have the BDO. It was mad, i only paid $45 and i found the two stages worked really well, because u didn't have to wait for the other bands to set up. And i thought the lineup was great.

fuck that corporate shit. Now I know terror are a pretty big 'punk/hardcore' band, but if you wanted a show you should have seen them, they were fuckin awesome, no less than 50 kids in the circle pit.

Save your mxpx for 10 year olds

It's never as profitable here cos they have to fly everywhere, which makes it more expensive, its way cheaper in the sates cos they just go around in tour buses.
Anyways I read in Kerrang (i think?) a while ago that they were thinking fo bring it back this year. yey.

metal has its good qualities but they members of the bands are fuckwits depends what metal u listen to, but the lyrics r so gay.. its mostly just growling whats the point, however the instrumentals are good, but i'll always be a punker

Na .... Not to burst your bubble but they do have to fly around Australia, They only go to the major citys and the warped tour is generally over 1 week inclusive so they wouldn't be able to travel by bus they wouldn't arrive to each event in time.

I thought I was right, but I wasn't sure :p
Plsu they'd have to fly all the crews around too, It'd get pretty damn expensive, which would make ticket prices go up too...
