i like stone temple pilots...but i've never actually heard velvet revolver - just heard bad things about them...i guess i might think about thinking about seeing them...

Insanity, they are awesome. Saw them in Toronto a few weeks ago and they were amazing. Slash is unreal...

Slash would be a good reason to go see them, but I've always really disliked Scott Weiland, so I probably won't go. Then again, if tickets are cheap I'd be in it, but that seems unlikely seeing as they're pretty big at the moment.

Good live you say? Maybe it'd be worth a rethink, but eh, I'm not sure, there's lots of competition for my money these days

I'd go simply to relive to some extent the Guns n' Roses experience (not that I really ever experienced Guns n' Roses in concert at all). I don't really have an opinion on Scott Weiland other than he has a really distinct voice that can be somewhat annoying at times. I'd consider going, but I'm guessing tickets will be expensive - thinking Metallica tickets last year - so I probably wont go.
