Violation of Human Rights ideas anyone? (1 Viewer)

Hi,
I'm trying to find an international violation of Human rights example to write a speech on, and I was wondering if anyone had some good ideas???

- Abu Ghraib
- Guantanamo Bay
- Slavery - Africans in America and in Africa in diamond mines and stuff like in Blood Diamond
- Holocaust
- Use of child soldiers/prostitutes (especially in Africa at the moment)
- to a certain extent you could probly say conscription or restrictions on civil liberties (ie. one child policy in china) as people dont have a right to decide whether they are willing to die for their country, or how many kids they want to have

thats all i got off the top of my head. theres heaps, just depends on if you want a modern or historical focus

Look if you want something more modern, look at the Sudan Dafur region in Africa. It is terrible, a variety of governments and UN is not intervening. Innocent people are caught up in the conflict. Children are murdered in their beds but not before they see their mothers being murdered and ##.
