When you're mature enough to make the decision, have sex safely and talk about it with the person you are going to do it with. If any of these are too difficult (i.e. you refuse to go get protection, don't want to talk about it with the person or are just doing it to be cool/grown up) then you're not ready regardless of age.
+1

I say: keep it legal, be mature, and use protection. Also: know when to say no, because there are so many girls out there that get pressured into it/don't know what they're doing. Not that they're always the victims, but you get my idea.

I agree with what most people are saying.
Whenever you feel comfortable talking about it with your partner (sober, I might add) then you can consider it.

But I would also like to add that you will regret it if you hold off on it for the sake of some ideology you have of sex.

Sex is fun, and it doesn't necessarily mean some sort of life-long deep bond with someone.

My first was with my best friend, and I don't regret it at all - In fact, so long as you know you wont ruin a friendship if something goes wrong, i would have to HIGHLY RECOMMEND (caps for emphasis ^_^) that your first time be with a friend, rather than a lover, because, frankly, sex is funny :p It's really funny, and silly and something ALWAYS goes wrong, so it's really nice to be able to laugh those off and still have a good time - and at least for the first time, that's much easier to do with a friend... Also... hey, it's practice for the real thing, cuz sex isn't quite as easy as they make it out to be on tv and porn XD if you don't know quite what you're doing, it can get boring, or frustrating, or just silly, so yeah, that's my advice... Sex, whenever you feel comfortable, but start with a friend ^-^ the whole ideological loosing your virginity the your true love bullshit never works, and it's just making more trouble for the both of you.

the only thing that stops me from having passionate sex is that i always have something to talk about with my friends that are girls. the conversations are so good and go on forever so we never reach that awkward quiet bit which would allow us to have a good shag.

also vaginas scare the shit out of me!!!!

Apparently about 50 percent of high school student did not have sex at least once.

There is no perfect age to have sex. Virginity is up to you when you what to lose it. Watch out for STDs.

Why would you wait to marriage, honestly? Sex is good, healthy and perfectly natura. It doesn't require some retarded institution to make it a legitimate or 'moral' act.
