lol I know I did a thread similar to this a year or so ago with V8... but this time I drove an old BMW V12 and it was fantastic.

Throttle response... amazing. Not like my Civic (duh) where you have to cater for that slight delay in response. The moment you adjust foot, you feel the car surge forward. Very linear too.

Compared to say... a modern BMW V8, the surge of power isn't that amazing I suppose but you can still feel the difference. The V8 doesn't have that same instant response that the V12 has.

Anyway... that's all I have to say :) Wanted to reignite an old thread.

Did you pay for it (if so, how much? Just curious). How'd you manage to drive it?

Comon, details details.

It's my uncle's old 750 (it's from 2 generations ago- i.e. before Bangle) but it was equipped with a 5.4L (i think) V12. Really thrashed it on the highway. Has very basic traction control and damper controls compared to the new 7 series; and the "before iDrive came along" interface, whilst considerably easier to use than iDrive, is not a pretty sight. The parking brake also got jammed (they use the pull on a lever style)~

Nope- that was the 740 which I drove last trip.

Here's the only photo I can find of the V12 I drove this trip;

Can't believe I started a trend :) But the V12 still sounds the best... really does sound and feel like you're the king of the road when it's roaring.
