after u finish the year 1 compulsary courses, wat do u normally take next in commerce. do u do the courses which are compulsary for ur major first before u do other electives in the major, like for economics should i do macro and micro 2.

well look at your major requirements and prerequisites. for an econ major, doing micro 2 first sem next year is advisable since a lot of subjects have micro 2 as a prereq. for finance majors, doing portfolio next year first sem is a good idea since a lot of subjects have that as a prereq. its common sense really.

december 11 is re-enrolment. well for your CA you have all those legal subjects along with business finance and infosys if you want. go to the ca website for the exemption subjects.

For the free options in a commerce degree, are you allowed to do extra subjects in your chosen specialisation, even if they dont go towards the major?
Like for accounting, can I do the 7 subjects required for a double major, and then just pick another ACCT course that I find interesting and have it count as an option?

you can do as many subjects as you like from the one area of specialisation, as long as you fulfill the rules required to be awarded your degree.

ye if u do acct and u want to fulfill the CA/CPA requirements, you pretty much have no choice, especially if you didn't do a legal subject in year 1

Sem1:

acct2522
legt1711
2 subjects from your other major

Sem2:

acct2542
legt2721
2 subjects from your other major

That's surprisingly effective. It's usually the correct choice since there will be one or two who knows how things work.

or in Sem2 instead of another 2nd major subject:
ACCT3583 (3593 for hons)

I'd definately advise getting some legals subjects out of the way if your doing ACCT and would - one day - like to head into the CA or CPA programs.

Yeah I'd get your LEGT subjects out of the way as quick as you can - they aren't that hard and won't take up too much of your time (away from your finance or accounting or whatever)
