but there is still a chance no matter how small!

Why have a government if they don't ATTEMPT to deliver like labor under kevin rudd does?

attempting but not successful has the same result as not delivering
theres a chance we all will spntaneously combust... yet we live on.
theres always a chance of something. thats life. theres is no such thing as a 100% perfect filter. the one we have now is strict. and usually people who try to get around the rules are caught (from what ive seen).

i completely and whole-heartedly disagree with you. attempting achieves some or all outcomes.... either way you nearly always have some positive results weighed up, however small or large - that can benefit working australians. that is better than doing nothing, and if you still disagree - thats you problem.

No, it's to block all RC material you idiot. You appear to be the one who is ill-informed. Labor party member much?

It applies the current categorisation system to the internet.
i never said otherwise. what you said which is wrong is "censorship".

that is pathetic liberal attempts to get political points as always.

but you are a minority - most australians are for this filter - EAT THAT.

quote: "bleh. i think the laptops are a waste of money. It'll only introduce the year 7 kiddies to porn sooner. At least before they discover it."

You noob - get your facts in order.

1. laptops (computers for each student) are given to year 9 onwards, not to year 7/8.
2. the chances of a site that isnt blocked having porn on it is next to nil.

How about you discover that the liberal party (under john howard, but also under tony abbott if elected will) deliver no major policy. Why have a government if they don't attempt to deliver like labor under kevin rudd does? Answer that you noob.
u=ITG m8.

but thanks for pointing out.

@2. Duh. I was referring to blocked sites. and i can list out how easy they are to bypass.
Im not sure how the gov regulates the internet filtering.. but

I do know that there are FTP servers, which completely pass through filters. IP spoofing(eg. hotspot shield/others similar to this- ive used IP spoofs to access databases of gaming forums through backdoors, and they'll track my IP, but it reflects a U.S ip address instead) same applies for unsuitable content, its way easy to bypass them.

Also, using a proxy is another way, there are millions for available proxies over the net, just access a site through a proxy (eg. hidemyass.com) or any of those similar(other individual proxies), to access a blocked out site.
Proxies can be originate from any IP, U.S, mexico, canada, china.. just name it.
and if the government tracks down a proxy, use a double proxy (use a proxy to access a proxy),
and this could go on and on and on. Its serves as an infinite layer of "shielding".

i could name a few more, but it'll be too long.
Just wanted to illustrate how easy it is to bypass a filter.

i knew about proxies and a few other ways to bypass a blocked site but you seem to be a pro. If the government does block porn we need to meet up so that you can teach me how to bypass xD

m8. :drink:

yes. i used to do, "part time illegal database accessing "on gaming forums, so im real clear on internet filtering/ proxies/ bypassing, ip masking and so on.

but ive stopped since about half a year ago, cause it was taking up too much of my internet bandwidth.

ahahaha maybe you coulda continued if you stopped downloading porn but then again i think many in your position would just give up your illegal activities rather than stop downloading porn.

i didnt download porn. i downloaded ************************************************************************ notepad/ depending on how the data is stored.

but yeh, gave it up due to a close encounter. Nearly got tracked down on a few occasions , but fortunately, the owners/web admins were always careless when they ran through their "admin portal" access history data.

EDIT:

blocked it out for my safety (*)

NO because the laptops are filtered by state gov't - the nswdet.

again, get your facts right.

AND its not a censorship plan you ignorant liberal - its blocking a specific select websites (child porn ect.) from overseas.

you are losing these arguments with me because you are woefully ill-informed. noob.
no it's not you moron it is censorship of all RC material. It will have no effect on people who are distributing child porn and it will effect everyone else by slowing the internet down.

It blocks internet websites.
Child porn isn't hosted on websites.

Here's a dirty secret about our so called "democracy".

We don't actually get to pick our so called leaders, The scam works like this.

The ultra wealthy elites who own all the resources and factories make the decisions through international organizations like the UN then they hand pick our leaders and influence the policies and agenda. For example many of these ISP's are fighting net neutrality and trying to kill off the free Internet and they do this through collaborating with the government and pushing for content restricrictions and control.

When we go to vote all we do is flip a coin, Heads or Tails.

At the end of the day it makes no difference how we vote because much of these policies the government sets are done without our permission and there is nothing that requires our permission.

All we have is the power vote them out or referendums in important the most important national decisions.

Dumbest fucking thing i have ever heard.

It is censorship you utter fuckwit:

Censorship - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Censorship is the suppression of speech or deletion of communicative material which may be considered objectionable, harmful, sensitive, or inconvenient to the government or media organizations as determined by a censor.

It is the very definition of censorship with ACMA taking the place of a censor and giving the government an insane amount of control on what we see without having any impact on a reduction in the consumption of child pornography.
you're using the word 'censorship' in a way that implies we are about to level up with china's filtering. thats just not true - you're making such a big deal about something that fair enough should be done. we live in australia, therefore we should access australian websites and only international websites that are socially acceptable.
It will have an impact on websites with inappropriate content from overseas websites, not directly on australian websites - excpet thos that wouldn't be allowed in video stores, theatres ect. THATS FAIR ENOUGH. and i remind you that a little bit of impact is better than the liberal approach of doing absolutely nothing and seeing no results.

the majority is so vast that this will have very little effect anyway and will just slow down the net of many.
