My first contemporary novel in awhile. Have been immersing myself in my mission to keep readings classics cos they're so good and I have alot of catching up to do.

Altar Ego by Kathy Lette. Not the most un-put-down-able book ever, but some littel gems of wordplay, e.g

Becky, the main character is talking to her best friend about this guy she's having an affair with
"he's a star now, you know"
"a star is a ball of gas in a seemingly fixed point"
Exactly, I thought to myself, a heavenly body.

(N.B. those were not the exact words in the book, except fr the heavenly body bit. You get the gist, witty wordplay.)

I'm also going through HHGG again.

Wheel of Time: The Great Hunt by Robert Jordan

It's the second book in the series. I'm enjoying it thusfar. Probably the most enjoyable book I've read.
