What prerequisite knowledge do we need to know for chemistry for yr12? molarity? solubility rules? or is it one of those subjects thats completely different in yr12

Well my teacher says that Chem is a subject where you need to be able to understand one topic before you can move on to the next topic.

So based on that I'd say you'd need a pretty good understanding of what a mole is, at least, and how to use it in calculations, and your solubility rules (you WILL need to remember them!) plus you need to know how to write a chemical equation and balance it. (Just look at all those past HSC questions in Chem where they ask you to write an equation for the reaction!)

So... I can only say, good luck to us LOL :p :D

This is what I think is most important:
- Writing+balancing equations/ chemical formulae - Yr 9/10 stuff =P
- Systematic names for organic compounds
- Hydrogen bonding, dipole dipole forces, dispersion forces
- Moles, molarity, solubility
- Basic energy stuff (e.g. exothermic/endothermic reactions, H=-mcat, etc.)
