i hate how theres a gap between mid 90s and high 90s for commerce subjects

so like a 98 would essentially mean the same as a 95
oh well.......crappo commerce

you seem to be choosing ur courses based on the cut off rather than what you really want to do.

my guess is that he's working to get the highest UAI possible for himself.

that way, he can get into the best course which requires his UAI.
e.g. he works hard during the trials and hsc, gets a UAI of 98.50

he then goes for optometry 98.05 instead of medical science/laws 97.65

(as an example)

i am kind of doing the same ... but if i get 93, i'd probably have a good think about what i wanted to do, and go for a course with a cut-off of 90, over another with a cut-off of 93.00

(depends on the person)
:)
some want to study the hardest course, because they are pushing themselves, others go for the $$$, others for their own personal reasons (e.g. it's their passion/love, they've always wanted to be a ... etc)

not really, the cut-off for the kid's preferences ranges from 91 to 99, and he seems to know what he'd like to study.
