I chose:

Advanced English,
General maths,
Business studies,
Geography,
Legal studies, &
Biology.

I think I may have made a mistake with Geography and Biology, though the lines they were in didn't interest me much.

What did everyone else choose???

Lol @ last quote u made mate . " later on " , you already sound soo confident. Hope u get to do it but if not , dont worry . Re -read this comment at the end or close to the end of year 11 ( the assesment chockablock) then re-think your choices..
Lol, didn't mean to sound like that. Anyway, maths is by far my best subject so having my UAI be 40% of that would be great.

Question, though, if you are doing really well in School Certificate Maths (97-100 in past papers), does that also mean you can get similar marks in 3U and 4U. I mean, its still maths.

No, it doesn't reflect how well you'll do in 3u.

2U - Physics
2U - Chemistry
2U - Software Design & Development
2U - Engineering Studies

Total U = 13U

Just curious,

Our Prinicpal was saying that our school is unlike most other schools in NSW, in that they already have the line pattern planned out, and the students pick their subjects off those line patterns, ie. everyone's choices will be compatible with the timetable.

On the other hand, our school lets us pick any subject (combinations) and they work out a 'best fit' line pattern to suit the majority (not all) of kids choices...

What's your school like guys?

When we picked our Year 9/10 electives in year 8, our lines weren't predertermined and mine all clashed with each other (all one the same line) so I hope it doesn't happen again. although this time we can put 'priorities' for each subject.

Im doing:

-english advanced

-english ext. 1

-mathematics

-maths ext. 1

-economics

-business studies

-Accounting

-engineering studies

= 14 units :):)

i wanted to do design and technology instead of engineering studies but unfortunalty we needed 10 people to make a class and only 7 people had chose it =( still cant believe out of 220 poeple only seven people chose it. So sad...but i guess that engineering studies would still be alright. After all i did do graphics technology and got 96% for year 9/10 electives... and engineering is like another science subject... its like maths plus chemistry plus physics plus graphics technology...

Im just thinking... would i copee??
haha probably.. ;)

Wow, you've chosen your subjects for the Year 11/12 already? Is this just in your mind, or is it what you've told the school that you're going to do next year?

We haven't chosen our subjects yet, but in my mind, I want to do:
English Extension 1
Maths Extension 1
Physics
Chemistry
Business Studies

12 Units.

I found out 2day that the subjects i chose all fit in the lines, with no clashes... which i really lucky considering around 80% of my grade had subject clashes

My subjects are:

Any year 10 students who think that their results from the school cert will reflect on their hsc are very, very wrong!

ahhh i wish i could sit the school cert for my hsc. I would do so well without even trying.

I tried the all-rounder approach of doing Woodwork, Food Technology and Computer Studies as my electives in Year 9 & 10 but it didn't work out.

So I narrowed my choices down to science and technology based subjects and it works out !
