Also they may ask for Photo ID and bring your transport concession card slip or fill one out at the student office aswell as they process both together.

Did that, just needed a drivers license. Got my ID, and my head school of accounting told me that i could get 6 units off, (exemption) and that was a marketing diploma, how awesome.
Also anyone who went, did you see how many international students were there, i thought i was in China:rolleyes:.

About what to bring, for accounting, should i bring my normal or a scientific calculator.

For your first day at UWS, if you want to fit in, I suggest:

1 * Baseball bat for protection

1 * Packet of Windfield Blue Ciggarettes

8 * Longnecks of Victoria Bitter
Since when did you go to the penrith campus?

It depends on what units you do as to whether you'd need a calculator at all.
e.g. Accounting Information for Managers wouldn't need more than a normal calculator (in our ARD tutorial people would just use their phones if they need a calculator). This also goes for principles of economics.

However, for stats, financial units and more hardcore accounting/economics units a scientific calculator would be much better.

But remember, you won't need to bring calculators and crap to lectures so you don't always need to drag it around to every class.

Yeh int. student orientation and enrollemnts just started this week. PS: theirs heaps of fobs at UWS who couldn't make it into better uni's.

Whatever you prefer, bring a calculator, some lecturers/tutors might get pissed off if your phone goes off, and yeah it's not ergonomic using ur phone as a calculator. You'll soon learn in your first few lec/tute's anyway.

fobs:haha: , there are also the ones who could have made it and got an offer to UNSW, USYD, MAQ, but who couldn't be bothered travelling for 3-4 hours a day, when UWS is in front of their nose (like 20min away)

Some tutors would probably go a bit spaz but others don't seem to mind. After the first few lessons when you've guaged the tutors insanity would be best to make the decision.

I doubt it, I work with two UWS fobs at work and they told me about how they couldn't make it into anywhere else :/

Also why would many come to UWS? Since the city and immediate surroundings is more of a cultral hub and a place they would feel more comfortable in, esp with uni's such as UNSW which almost 1/4 of students are int students.

i partially agree, if you'r studying business many like me don't mind UWS, especially Parramatta, but if you studying arts or something and are going to UWS Penrith/Bankstown, then yeah:ninja:,

why would you feel more comfortable at the city then at UWS, in year 12, i went to many lectures that were held in the city, its nothing special.

Yeah,

Their's just more cultral things for some int students in the city particularly asiaa, such as China town, etc. Things that they are used to and they would have more opportunites to socialise with those of their ethnic community.

So basically, for the orientation, all you have to bring is yourself correct?
