What HSC mark would it give me?

I really want a band 5, as I think that is where my true potential lies for this course.

So yeah what HSC mark and band would 87/120 give?

Thank you.

external mark.. that would equate to 84-88 so mid band 5 but your hsc marks depend on your internal ranks and marks so if youre in the top 3 in your class then I guess you can get band 5 with 87

My teacher today told me that at a 'HSC mathematics seminar' just recently they were informed that a raw mark of 95/120 = 79% ends up scaling to 90%. ?
this info came from my teacher.... I'm hoping that it's correct cause I'd be cheering if my maths mark scaled that high. I'm aiming for 90/120 in the exam.

Sounds about right if the exam is of average to hard difficulty. because 95/120 would be pretty hard to get if the paper contained tough questions in qs 4 - 8, 9 -10 are always, a certain throw for a majority of people off.
