School provided a hot, sit-down caffeteria style meal every day to all staff and students.

i hardly ever have canteen food, its too gross at my school. for recess i usually have some fresh fruit and a muffin/biscuit that my sister and i make on weekends for the whole week. for lunch i generally have a sandwich, usually vegemite, peanut butter, nutella or ham with some fruit too. i just drink water. since im in year 12 and we have the coffee room this year though im planning on having lots of nice food and heating it up in the microwave or raisin toast....mmm yummy :)

my school had pizza roundas.
that was my lunch at school. usually with a bottle of coke.

but i did take lunch from home, or i went home for lunch

what i took for luch was usually leftovers that taste good cold.
or i would heat it up stairght before i went to school, and then wrap the container up in lots of foil, so by the time it was lunch time, it would still be hot (only worked on days when i got first two periods off)
i took lots of sandwiches.
lots of mini packets of biscuits/chips, muesli bars, other types of bars, roll ups etc.
whatever i could find and would fit in my lunch box.
alot of the time, i took containers of fruit loops of coco pops, as they could easily be eaten in class.

Well it depends on the season lol.
In summer i'll often take a salad, or a sandwich with either a spread or salad on it (i'm not a huge meat fan). For recess i take tiny teddies, and some fruit. I also have an up and go once i get to school because after my 1 and a half hours of travel i feel like a second breakfast :p.
In winter second breakfast is the same. Recess is normally some snack like summer, though for lunch i often take hot gnocci, pasta, or soup etc in my thermest, sooo yummy...yup anyway, that's what i do...

damnn im just remembering being back at school for lunches, geez they suckd!
i took sandwiches, tuna (but it would usually stink) lol
basically i had a really shit diet all throughout highschool, canteen food. pies, cheese rolls etc.. yukk

thank god, now that im at tafe we can go to the shops for lunch lol there is subway near me.. sometimes we'll get fish n chips, chicken and chips, bakers delight stuff.. whatever!
but because i can walk to tafe, i usually come home for the hour break, make a fresh tuna salad, maybe toast some bagels with salmon + cream cheese, warm up leftover dinners.. whatever! yummmmm

i never got to go to the canteen cause i wasnt allowed to spend lunch/recess in the quad/playground. so yeah i had to put up with sandwiches unless on the off chance i was allowed to the canteen to buy something.

Wholemeal roll or a foccacia with baby spinach, chicken and mayo.
Some sort of fruit (fresh or ...packaged oddly)
Roasted Cashews
Yoghurt + Blueberries from the canteen..nicest, thickest, creamiest stuff ever

On Wednesdays I get hot chips from accross the road to sustain myself in history extension.

at my old school, year 12 were allowed to go down the street to get lunch at the shops. i think everyone gained about 10 kilos during the course of the year.
it was a good idea though!

im a health freak so i eat nothing bad.
Usually recess just a tuna sandwhich + piece of fruit
Lunch is usualy a larger meal with brown rice + meat + veges or chicken sandwhiches or pasta. And drink around 6-9 litres a water a day.
