It really depends on the individual. Some people consider 80 to be a decent mark. Others would consider 98+ to be a decent mark.

It is proportional to your ability.
Like Carrot said- it all depends on the person. There are a lot of people that would be extremely happy (and very rightly so) with a B6; there are others who would be disappointed. I always try to look at these things in terms of individual potential and doing your best. If there is someone who's potential in maths is 88 and they get 88, they have done fantastic and should be congratulated. On the flipside, if there is someone who has the potential to get 100 but gets 97 because they don't put in the effort- then that's a poor showing.

You shouldn't really compare yourself with others because everyone has different abilities in different areas.
These two pretty much.

Is it just me or is the number of maths geniuses in this thread too damn high
Most of the BoS user base consists of high achievers - especially with regards to maths.

If I score 100 Raw and first place scores 98 (counting on dem sillies)

Then for example will it go:

1st Place (Internal Mark) 100 (Exam Mark) 98 -> HSC Mark 99
2nd Place (Internal Mark) 98 (Exam Mark) 99 -> HSC Mark 99

??

So we keep our exam marks but 1st place internal gets moderated to 100 because its moderated based on the external outcome?

Thanks

First will be moderated to 100. Your internal though won't be 98 unless your decently far from 1st. I don't know how far you are but if you're like 1% off them, then you'd probs end up with an internal of just above 99, giving you HSC mark of 100.

Is about 3-4% internal difference 'too much'?

And say both of us get 100

1st Place (Internal Mark) 100 (Exam Mark) 100 -> HSC Mark 100 (possibility of state rank)
2nd Place (Internal Mark) 99 (Exam Mark) 100 -> HSC Mark 100 (no possibility of state rank?)

Is that true? Or do I have a chance at 100 HSC Mark too?

Yeah I know Im going to miss out on state rank heh, good to know I still have a chance at 100 HSC Mark thanks guys
Don't worry- state rank 4U next year. Honestly, if you're as good at 4U next year as you are at 3U this year- you'll get that state rank fairly comfortably imo
