Do they look down upon Macq? Probably.

Should they? Probably not.

As Azure and kaz1 said - it doesn't really matter. It is a good uni, particularly for actuarial (or so I've been told).

Now that I've got some "uni experience" I gotta say that Macq commerce is inferior to USYD and UNSW when looking for good jobs involving the business majors. I've went to many firms in the areas of accounting, finance, marketing etc etc for interviews + work etc... and I always notice that there doesn't appear to be many Macq students present. USYD and UNSW tend to dominate the people present followed by UTS and Macq (roughly on par). Macq also has shit in-uni career 'opportunities'.

You may go to different universities but you come out with the same degree and MacqUni is notorious for its party lifestyle (or from what I hear). So at the end of the day it doesn't even matter but to answer your question... I say that some of my friends at UNSW have the tendency to tease MacqUni every now and then but Actuaries at MacqUni will always overrule.
