Is it the students or teacher's fault, if the teacher cannot control the class?

Some observations and inferences from school life from my perspective as a past student are that students:
  • Feel like they don't have the need to respect the teacher
  • Feel that learning is boring
  • Only need to go to school because they are required by law
  • Rather do their own "thing"
  • Feel as if school is a waste of time
  • Feel as if what they are learning won't help them in life

Furthermore in regards to teachers, students feel as if teachers are:
  • Boring, and don't provide any interesting activities
  • Monotone
  • Too strict
  • "Bigger" than them , or have greater power
  • Loathing (hating) of the student themselves

It can obviously be either-

Teachers have favourite classes because some classes are easier to control than others.

AND

A class which behaves for their usual teacher won't necessarily do it for a sub.

Both.

A particular class may be rowdy (eg my English class) but it depends upon the teacher on how long that goes for

In Year 11 I had a teacher that could not control my English class (adequately anyway). You had two idiots that would act up and make retarded excuses for a laugh, another two guys who would keep backchatting and the class was just in general noisy. Not to mention the teacher was crap anyway.

But after she left in Term 2 Year 11 we got an experienced teacher in. My goodness the difference... we still have these four idiots in our class but she's made it clear where the boundaries are.

both; however some times the class is made up a high proportion of idiotic students which will be very difficult to control .
