Agreed. I think I could live with it. The missus seems supportive and at $160k it's pretty reasonable for a not too old car.I'm looking at old Gallardos in the sub $200k bracket so they're not too out there; but then on the other hand, it's difficult to put your life savings into a used car which will only depreciate further especially when you're planning on getting a mortgage!
Would an R8 be cheaper to maintain then the Gallardo?

Don't know the specifics but I'd assume so given;
a) Audis are generally not too expensive to maintain (along with most German cars) relative to supercars
b) Newer car = less likely to have issues (assuming buying a car with set budget)

Note that I state the above with no certainty and based purely on speculation.

Seremify - your opinion on a C63 AMG?

(edit: please and thank you).
I rate it. One of my mates got the 2012 sedan with the performance pack and it feels pretty epic especially with launch control. Goes hard as you'd expect given the V8. Still feels luxurious inside and has an edge but also quite classy. That being said whether it's worth 2x or 2.5x my C250 is another question! I'd pick this over the M3 as the M3 seems to be more useful on a track but 99% of my life is spent not on the track. Probably wouldn't have gone for performance pack if it were my money and I'd use the change to buy something cheap/fun e.g. 86.

it depends on how well the car has been taken care of.
I've spent less on my '74 mini than i have on my 2004 Barina in the past 2 years. In terms of both servicing etc and also rego/insurance. Barina is double what i pay for mini (comprehensive third party for a green p plater)

Aston Martin (I don't really mind which one, DBS, V8 or V12 vantage etc. - they're all so pretty).
Audi R8 4.2 FSI Quattro.
Lexus LFA.

Muscle!

Mustang GT500 Modern or Vintage (67' Eleanor or stock, they both rock).
2013 Corvette C6 ZR1
(Gotta have an Aussie in there) Falcon GT (Would do the modern variants as well, not so much the Limited Edition GT-R spec though, kinda ugly) - also have a soft spot for the R8 Commos (Bogan or what?).

Also, Mk. IV R32 Golf (Haha).

There are more but my list would get ridiculous.

Not neccessarily in that order.

oh i forgot about aston martin DBS's fak.

i don't really like the R8, purely aesthetically speaking. I much prefer a sleek, black coupe with simple lines. i sound like a wanker, but suck my dick.
or 335i coupe etc. you know what i'm sayin'.

dont you dare say anything bad bout it.

aston martin vanquish (new model) would be my ultimate dream car. but realistically i would never have a chance to own one.

at least the z4 is relatively affordable.

Maybe a Mercedes CLS63 AMG cause everything about that car is amazing....especially how it looks and sounds.
