Yup. I'm below the poor bracket, living off Centrelink. What you see in my bank and wallet is the honest truth, I don't get payed till Wednesday and I have an almost completely empty fridge.

Baked beans till Wednesday. Oh joy.

I have no savings, because I can't get a job. My car (not buying, maintenance and repair), uni expenses and other expenses (private) chewed through roughly $4,000 - $5,000 in three months.

I cannot get a job at all. No-where in my area will employ me and this won't change for at least another five years.

Basically I have no savings... Inevitably I'll starve... Inevitably my car will die due to lack of maintenance, reducing my chances of obtaining a job etc... Why do I have this bad luck? Why does life throw this shit at me 24/7? Why is my life so shit when I see 98% of BOS users getting through life happily? Why have I not been happy for over six months?

I'm about ready to give up.

Man I feel sorry for you, I'm in pretty much a similar position but I guess life's not worth giving up on, I mean if your able bodied, nothing is impossible and if u have this motivating quote in ur mind. The only people that'll benefit from it, will be urself and ur future family. So don't give up :)

About $8,000-$10,000 saved
I worked full time at the Department of Finance for a year. Pretty much how I saved all my money.

Going to uni full time this year so I'll hopefully find a part time job and not eat into my savings
How did u get a job at the Department of Finance?

i have:

- $6400 in my "savings in case i am about to kill myself because life sucks and want to flee to an exciting destination" account
- $100 in my regular account
- no debts (yet)
- like a million books and records and random things that are old and worth decent money (vintage clothes, antique stuff, etc), if that counts as assets?

i probably won't get inheritance and my parents haven't given me a trust fund or put money in shares or anything.
