that i want to be able to support myself and be in a position to be able to help others - that i can do with a higher education - that i want to be able to live comfortably through being hard working, especially as i come from a poor family, as a result of having an uneducated mother.

So do I.
I think beating her in the HSC will be such a satisfying feeling. Sounds petty but it does motivate me to study for my exams, at least.

for sure, that should be the number one motivation for everyone, to have a selfless spirit even during the hsc

seems most ppl here want MONEY.

my advice (from other ppl's advice)... you won't really get what you want unless it's out of genuine interest. (e.g. you're not likely to be a successful lawyer if all you want is money. you won't save lives being a doctor who only want MONEY).

anyway, my main motivation is to prove that i can do it. (to the fat bully who called me rude names. to my doubting tutors. to my whole family who I am their last hope in getting medicine.)

secondly, I want to keep my choices open.

...various thousands of reasons...

and lastly, (on a euphemistic note) I need to support my mum, dad, me, and my future kids who will one day be born. (hopefully)
