Just wondering, do you guys get a choice in regards to Options?

Depends on the teacher.
Chemistry teacher gave us the vote, majority wins.
Physics teacher made us do Astrophysics because we were a poverty-stricken school and used Astrophysics to cover the rest of Cosmic Engine.

no. and apparently quanta to quarks is the hardest.

but apparently the medical one is quite difficult and most people dont do as well in those questions in the hsc.
:(

Meh, anyway, we didn't get a choice in what option we were going to study.

is that the one your doing?
Yeah, we are doing medical physics. It looks interesting enough.

Re: options?

Heh. trust me hun, your well ahead of our class.
Were doing quanta to quarks as well (no option - i really wanted to do age of silicon cos i do SDD)

we havent even finished ideas to implemetation yet - we did the first 2 dot points and we have to go in during the holidays to finish it cos our teacher wastes lessons talking about nothingness.

shes taken out the option bit for us for trials cos were too far behind. Our class sent eachother our notes cos otherwise we'd still have no idea. We have an assesment task after the trials which we dont get till after them.

so i hope that de-stresses you.

medical phyics and teacher got a vote on it and well he sorta got it to go that way anyways, but finished the option with 3 weeks b4 trials. medical is the easiest thing out

Wow,
Our teacher believes in self directed learning, so he came up with these guides for each elective
So everyone gets to choose
The downside:
We learn from Excel HSC physics text book, as well as a myriad of text books older then I am
Which gets tedious

Oh but our teacher is always there if we need to ask him anything
And I do quanta (which ties in with Chem of Art!!!)
So its not too bad (well...Ive only just finished the 3rd module thing in it)

Yeah, I do. But a student can choose to cover any topic they want to. But, if they do something other than the one the school teaches, they have to cover it themselves, the school isn't obliged to help you in such a case.

Any how, since both Physics classes are on the same line, I can choose Astrophysics or Medical Physics. I think I'm goinna choose astro.

Re: options?

My class is split into three groups. One is doing medical physics, the option the teacher suggested, another is doing astrophysics, and the group I am in is doing quanta to quarks. Quanta is interesting, medical is apparently easiest, though i can't verify that. There's going to be some option questions in the trial (tomorow) but not a lot, seeing as we have only done like the first few dot points in class.

From Quanta to Quarks

We didn't get to choose but I like it anyway

Apparently in the HSC, the each of the options are scaled appropriately so that you can't just do an "easier" option and get more marks. That's what my Physics teachers says at least
