Hello,
I was just wondering what ranks I should be looking at if I wanted to get an ATAR of around 99.7 .

School Rank: ~30.

Cohort sizes:
Maths Extension 1: ~150
Advanced English: ~150
Modern History: ~30
Ancient History: ~20
Physics: ~100

I'm planning to take on Maths Extension 2 and the cohort I assume will be around 1/3 the size of Extension 1, if not, then more.
Should I be close to topping all of the subjects?
Thanks.

ATAR to ranks estimates are fairly unreliable, but my guess would be top 3-5% of your subjects might be enough.

What ranks should I be aiming for if my mathematics cohort is exceptionally talented? (We placed around top 10 in the state in mathematics around 2 years ago). Would top 15 suffice? Thanks. :)

You would need to be in the top 4 or so people in your cohort Verify

Ok this is Sydney Tech I'm pretty sure. Now they're quite strong in maths- not sure exactly on your grade but you can get lower ranks in maths (and when I say lower, I mean relatively lower). For what its worth, these were my ranks:

English- 3rd
Chem- 3rd
Phys- 3rd
MX2- 3rd
MX1- =1

And that was an easy .95 in terms of assessment marks. Our grade was very strong though at top end but still- you don't need to top everything. I think you need to top the histories though because not sure how well Tech does in those

Ask rivalry when he does law. Maybe a single digit rank for everything?

Oh yeah, Verify I recommend using a few ATAR calcs to work out what you need, then make an appointment with your school principal and ask him/her approx what rank you would need to get X mark in Y subject, and from there you know what to aim for based on past statistics :). speaking of which I still need to make my own appointment with my school principal lol :\
