Guys, dont be discouraged by the ppl saying its' 119-20.

THIS IS NOT TRUE.

Anything over 110 (+/- a few marks depedning on scaling) would be a band 6.

Wouldn't count on that 110/120 as beign a band 6

The head of maths at our school, who marks HSC all the time said it's usually 85/90+ that will get a band 6

Looks like it is going to be at least 100 for that band 6 guys

The exam was just too easy compared to the past papers.

I highly doubt its much higher than 100/120 to get a Band 6. Its hard to imagine a massive difference in results in 2U this year and previous years, even with the ease of 2008.

Bullshit, its usually 97-102, if not lower. 108/120 would be like a 94
This is true.
Except, how come this topic got so many replies while mine got none? :((
Every year, many people find the test easy, and many find it hard. I don't think this year will be an exception.

To add to my previous point, an 115 is usually 98-99

If i remember correctly, in 2006 an exam mark of 94/120 equated to an external mark of 90/100. Considering 2006 was an easy exam too, I'm guessing around the same.

I would say B6 would be around 90-110.

I thought the exam was quite difficult.

i think wat ur all saying is crap... i think ur all forgettin the average raw mark in the state for 2 unit maths is 48%. Thus to get a 90 teachers always say depending on the test a 75% could potentially get u it but a 80% is a guarenteed B6. I reckon because this test was slightly easier 83% raw will be an absolute guarenteed band 6.... these stats came from my teacher who teachers 4 unit and is classified by most as one of the best teachers in the state- so id take his word

According to the poll we have. it is 115-119 for the B6 because it is approximately 10% of the people who have voted.

But I reckon it is much less than that. It should be something like 95-105/120 for the B6. Those who are confident enough to put in their votes are usually high achievers anyway.

you gotta remember as well that most of the people on here are people who actually care about how they go....and people who have voted is like less than 1% of all people who actually do maths....
I thought the exam was easy and so did the 5 other 3 unit students at my school, but my friends who do 2 unit found it extremely hard, came out of the test saying they had left a lot of marks (kind of like me in 3 unit)
so just because everyone on here says it was easy, doesn't mean the other 99% of the state found it easy
my dad is a maths teacher and hsc marker and says it is usually about 95-100/120 which is the band 6 cut-off...even if this test was a bit easier, it's not going to change the cut-off by 15 marks, it wasn't THAT much easier
I think 100 will definitely get you a band 6 any year in 2 unit maths, maybe the cut off will be closer to 100 than 95 this year, but it's still gonna be around that mark.

I reckon it would be around 95-100. People saying that it is going to be close to 110+, no it won't - that's just stupid.

i laugh at those who think it will be 110+.. even a 105+ is stupid. i think it will be like 95-98, 115+ will be 98-99
