Except in Maths. I feel screwd because I have such a big interest in learning Philosophy and the only way I'll be able to do this course is by accelerating in one or more subjects.

Should I change schools? I don't want to because I've got friends here and I'm terrible at adjusting to new environments, yet this desire to do Philosophy is so strong and there.

I feel so hopeless.. I've talked to a few teachers and either they don't have a clue what the distinction courses are, or make it out as though I can't do anything in terms of my academic abilities. Why doesn't anyone believe in me?

You don't have to change school you can go to the principal and ask if you can accelerate outside of school with an outside tutor.

What difference does it make?

Your tutor cannot personally accelerate you, can he/she?

I think she needs to query her teacher in regards to that issue. If she cannot accelerate and cannot take up Philosophy course... she can take what sikhman said.

On top of that, you don't just take Philosophy course whenever you want to - you need to get at least high Band 5 to in the accelerated course to get in.
