What subject to drop? (1 Viewer)

Hey there,

For my prelim. year, I have 12 units, however am willing to pick up Extension 2 Maths for yr 12. What subject should I drop?

School rank: 300s

English Advanced: 2/98
English Extension: 1/24
Mathematics Advanced: 1/78
Mathematics Extension: 1/45
Modern History: 1/58
Chemistry: 2/58
Economics: 1/35

English Extension. I was in a similar position to you regarding the number of units I had an my ranks, and I didn't feel I could justify dropping extension english because I was coming 2nd in the course.

It was the biggest waste of time. I hated it and put very little effort into it. I maintained my rank but in the end did a fairly average job in the exam and it didn't count towards my ATAR.

But, if you love Extension English, keep it.

BTW I found History Extension to be a very rewarding subject, so also consider that if your school offers it.

And definitely pick up ME2.

drop modern, its pretty time consuming and u should focus more on 4u when u pick it up. and damn u have nice rank, 99+

I think since you're ranked really well in all your subjects, pick extension 2 as a 13th unit. By the end of the first term, it will be clear which subject you want to drop. A few of my friends did this and it worked out pretty well

Just drop whatever subject feels like a burden to you for next year
