This is less what textbooks are worth getting as what actual textbooks can you get for each course. All I have found is Calculus One and Several Variables for Maths 1A.

What is the equivalent for Physics 1A? Both of those 1B? Are there any engineering specific textbooks? Any advice is appreciated :)

Don't need any. But I'd recommend one for PHYS if you're set on buying em.

Wait until your first lectures and see how they are and what is recommended and think about how you would cope with those courses yourself.

Did you see a lot of students dropping out before the census date and changing to a different subject? Is that a common thing to see?

Well what engineering are you doing?

My 'Principles of Thermodynamics' textbook wouldn't be very useful for a Computer Engineer...

No because most engineering courses/subjects are fixed/core.
