i go to a non selective school......i don't think my school has ever been in the top 200 since i was in yr 7....so all i know is that im definetely NOT on a way to a 90 + UAI. I think maybe somewhere from 60 - 80 AHAha

it is possible to get a UAI over 90 and not be a selective school. i didnt even realise that if u went to a selective school your UAI was scaled higher. My brother and nearly every year at my school we have some one with a UAI of 90. there is no way possible our school would be in the top 200. we would more likely not even make to list of good schools. each year there is only about 25 to 30 students who complete the HSC at coomealla high.
I am aiming for a UAI of high 70's low 80's. hopefully.

I go to a non-selective school (but it's private), and statistically, 50% get over 90, 35ish% get over 95%, 18ish% get over 98 and 10% get over 99. Using this and my ranks, I can estimate about 98-99, but there's no way I'll get that high!

I think the dux at most public non-selective schools in my area tends to be approximately 96-98 UAI - so definitely possible to get over 95 at any school.

Yeah, but isn't your school above most selective schools? Like 10th or something? I'm sure you'll get that high if your ranks are top 10-15%.

if u mean selective schools r scaled higher coz theyre selective, ur slightly rong...i was told that selective schools dont actually get scaled higher. its really just the pool of marks that drags us up. its not so much the school, its the students n how well they do in school marks n hsc marks.
if u compare my school (caringbah) 2 1 like say endeavour, completely difrent school (selective v sport) n different kind of ppl.
if ur a really smart student at a regular school, theres no reason u cant get close 2 100. if u get good marks in school n carry it over 2 the hsc exams, ull do well.
there isnt much of a difference, just the ppl ur around n how much u really want a result...

Trials: marks (ranks)
English: 68.5/110 (7/103)
Mathematics Extension 1: 64/84 (15/94)
Mathematics Extension 2: 81/120 (4/38)
Chemistry: 83/100 (16/70)
Physics: 84/100 (4/60)
Biology: 86/100 (6/60)

I go to a half-selective school ranked 28th last year. I'm hoping for 99+.....but this is in doubt because my overall ranks are worse than my trial ranks....:(

Err your school has nothing to do with your UAI..Everyones making out that public schools are like " OMG LOLZZ MAX 43 UAI LOLZZ" In that case, explain why last year a kid got 93 in my school, which was ranked second last in our area and about 480th in the state..
