Just a simple question. What would you do in your reading time for any School Certificate exams? It's 10 minutes long!
I would try to see the extended response questions and go through MC... Wbu?

Skim through the whole paper and try to come up with an idea for the long response. For Maths I would just flip through the paper to see home much stuff there is and start working out the answers in my head during the rest of the reading time.

I look at the long responses and plan what I'm going to write about (in my head of course).

Seeing as the reading time is 10 minutes, if you're a fairly good reader you will be able to read the Short Answer questions, the Extended response questions and everything else except the Multiple Choice Questions. That way, when you're doing the mind numbingly boring Multiple Choice questions, your subconscious brain will be going through the Extended Response questions and Short Answer questions and it will be preparing while you work on the rest of the paper, and you will find that you might have more ideas and can jump straight into the longer questions rather than sit around thinking.

For the English exam I didn't have to plan anything at all for the creative writing section, so my time was spent on the first extended response and going through the stimulus booklet.

For English - Spend all the time on reading the multiple choice texts.
For History - Look at extended and short answers.
For Geo - Same as above
For Science - skim through MCQs

shit 10 minutes? i don't even remember ours

i'd read the provided texts for english and the mc questions, then have a read over extended response and such and start forming ideas in my head
maths and science with all that time, i'd go over the harder questions and work on them in the back of my mind and while doing that do a few of the easier ones

Flip straight to the back to the extended and short response. For all of them (except comp skills of course). Plan answers/figure out formulae in head.
Also, stimulus booklet if any.
If more time, skim through MC and take mental notes on the ones I already know.
Apart from that, not much else time.

NB: ALWAYS start at the back of the test (short/long response). It saves SO MUCH TIME.

for history/geo... i do as much of the MC in my head as possible, so as soon as we can hold our pen.... i immediately fill in my answer sheet
so there is more time left to do extended and short reponses
