who here gets penalty rates? eg. overtime from your original shift, night rates, weekend rates, etc.

would help to know where you work also.

I do.

Saturday: Standard 1.5x hourly rate
Sunday: Standard 2x hourly rate
Between 9pm and 9am shifts: 30% loading (still applies on Sat/Sun shifts)

and if big kev absolishes the awa, do we get the mandatory penalty rates back?
Job 1: Para Planning
Job 2: IT Support @ Newcastle University Library

As for the penalty rates returning as mandatory, I doubt it.

that really sucks. how can they expect people to be encouraged to work at night if the pay is the same? an economist will tell you it is an employee's world, but deep inside, employers still control everything.

bring back penalty rates.

originally worked at a call centre -- they're usually quite flexible with uni timetables. except the job sucks big time
$23/hr + super casual rate
then worked at a big 4 accg firm for a summer vac program
$28 casual rate including super
this was much MUCH better. my every minute was no longer being monitored & i liked the work
at the moment, doing private tutoring ($40/hr) + IT consulting ($50/hr + GST)

Not me!

Not even if I worked public holidays. It doesn't bother me too much though, considering the pay is okay.. *shrugs*

Deli Chick.

At 17 I'm getting: $11.41 a weekday, and $16.67 or something like that for a Sunday.

In 2003 it was like $6.49 - so worked somewhere else for $7.23 - it seems like a waste of time now.

I get paid this afternoon so if I need to make adjustments to those amounts I will do it then.

I want to do that but got told you need a few grand or something like that to start, and parents didn't really seem to want me to do it.

Is it like that?
