well ma set readings start from the 27th-feb dat is so i guess within the first week wud be great....wat course ru doing?

you are recommended to buy the books after your first lesson, you will get a course outline and includes the books u need to buy
so anytime after that wud be great

it actually depends on the course and the lecturer. i actually didnt buy two of my books in first year as they werent exactly needed, we only had to have them for tute questions because the actual text in the book was all crap compared to the lecture notes we were given. so it depends if the lecturer is dependent on the text or not. and one more thing second hand books will save you alot, i was stupid and brought brand new ones when second hand ones work the same and cost you less..

I'm thinking of buying them one by one after each respective class.

No way I wanna carry them all home on the bus at once. But I reckon have them ready for Week 2 at the latest would be best.
