Hi all...

I'm just interested to know when people start studying? Do you look over your notes/textbooks a couple of weeks before, after uni starts, have you already started or are you the cramming type....

I'd love to see what the average is.

First 2-3 weeks can relax and pretend there's no uni. Can play comp and laze around and do minimally required work (i.e. tute questions that need to be checked and readings).
Since the content tested in class tests is taught very close to the actual test date, one can't really go ahead and study..so I generally study one week before the test date if possible.
Cramming is inevitably since assignments/tests usually come at similar time.

i dont study..i procrastinate alot during uni

but i still pass..so meh

p's get degrees, thats all you all need to worry about in uni, its not all that competitive getting high grades as hsc, nobody cares, and everyone's on the same boat provided you pass, thats all that matters.

I'm doing French so I'm just trying to teach myself a little bit before class starts... because I had a friend who did it and couldn't handle it plus there were apparently kids who could already speak a lot and had been to France... so I thought I really need to prepare myself.

And I printed off the Chemistry syllabus and tried to study a bit... but it's not working too well :p

I'll probably started studying for the others when uni actually starts.

I'll start studying as soon as uni starts. I want to get good grades in case I decide to transfer.

The first week. I HATE playing catchup (cramming). Classes are so much more interesting when your on top of your game.

Btw I heard some lecturers say to do your readings before the lectures. Does anyone actually do this? I find it very hard, especially when you have tute hw, assignments.

Depends on which subject. For macro/micro, you are supposed to read the chapters before the lecture, but no one ever bothers doing that. However for law, you have to read before the lecture.

Straight away definently. I've even done a little bit of extra reading / private research on the topics I'm going to study this year, and even next year. Aiming for a perfect (8 h1s) GPA.

thats pretty pointless i found.

its not about how much you know, it's about how much of what they teaching you, u can regurgitate to them in the exam.
