Where is everyone up to in HSC Chemistry?
For me, we still need to cover esterification in The Acidic Environment topic. I think we're falling behind. We spent a whole term on this module and we still haven't finished it.....
At this rate, I don't think we'll be able to complete the whole course before the trials....which means our trials probably won't have the Option topic in it....which kinda sux......
Have you guys finished the Acidic Environment topic (or 2 whole modules)?

Yeah. Last year we had just started esters at this stage. We still finished the course...You can always read ahead. A suggestion is to complete the water management part of the third core topic in any free time you get. This section has little chemical understanding and maximum memorisation.

We're at the exact same place you are at. And probably won't finish all the modules before the trials which is bad in my opinion

i'm up to the very beginning of chemical monitoring and management, having just finished up the acidic environment, and done practice exam questions, etc... but i still have a bit if revision and notes for the acidic environment i'd like to do before, to wrap it up 'neatly'.

Finished esterification just before the exams started. Will be starting chem monitoring + management as soon as school starts again.

We just completed esterification two days before the end of term and will be starting chemical monitoring and management at the commencement of the term.

HOLY CRAP!!!!
man we are just starting estirification! :burn:
no disrespect to the original poster, but according to that poster's user info, he finished the hsc in 2005, so he's naturally finished all topics.

I know we should be finishing monitoring by now, but we have a teacher with a good (but VERY slow) teaching method

Yeah probably. You should be more worried if your trials like near the start of term 3.

My class started the option this week

Well yeah I am. Me and about half the class have just started moving way ahead of the class. It's the exact same for Physics. We don't even have a qualified Physics/Chemistry teacher (same person). We are so screwed up. Stupid underfunded fucking schools. He goes to class and says, "do these dot points by the end of class". Then, if we ask a question he says, "oh, just look it up in this text book". Grr so damned annoying. Fucking idiot.
Our trials are Week 4 next term.

We've finished Production, Acidic and are up to Section 3 (almost 4) of Monitoring. Were doing Industrial Chemistry for our option...

Our class is onto dot 5 for chemical monitoring and management... but we will only get 2 or 3 lessons of our option in due to so many missed lessons and practical exams etc.
