IE is too easily hijacked. Firefox = win.

Only had one site that didn't work in Firefox properly, and it was a real estate site that my parents were interested in, so doesn't affect me anyway.

Not sure if IE is just random, or whether Firefox is more accurate, but in Firefox all my favourites have favicons saved, as opposed to IE which don't, and never did *shrugs*.

why use safari and firefox? safari is also using gecko renderer....
safari is actually based off konqueror ...

I use FireFox for gmail, since it dosn't support my version of Safari (1.1) and I can't upgrade on MacOSX10.2

Also, Firefox seems to handle Java applets better (I don't know why).

Finally, because Firefox gives me live RSS, which isn't coming to Safari until 2005 ...

What kind of options?
Well I've switched to Firefox now cause spyware crudded up IE and Avant but I still wish there were things like:
Taskbar icon so that when I close/minimise, it's still running
Google search bar opens searches in a new tab
Opening a bookmark opens in new tab

And if these options somehow existed...

Option to make newly opened tabs open in the background.

Any idea?

If not in the prefs, have a look for an extension to do it.

If you had Safari you would have 1, 3 and 4 already ...

Ah yep, I got smart and looked up some extensions. Found the Tabbrowser extension so now it's all good, hooray! *hugs opening in background new tab options*

Now all I need left is a taskbar icon.

altho this is a diffrent question, but i hate not being able to uninstall IE.
ive used avant browser and opera and netscape, but they load really slowly, takes like 30-60 secs to load.
IE isnt better either.
all of them eat up too much mem on my comp.
but im gonna try firefox, thanks to ur reccomendations and see if it goes well. the experiment begins...

IE should start in a matter of seconds since it is pre loaded with windows....

Firefox also take a little more memory than IE.

if you want a lean browser try lynx

hmm... that is strange though, hope it is fixed in 1.0 final

I use getright with by copying the link, getright can detect that and start the download automatially.

Hm, I right click the pdfs > open this page in IE now. Too hard to get to work with Firefox until they fix it up. Not ditching it for IE overall though, IE sucks too much :D

I dont think ive come to a "bug" in the software..

Opera is very nice, xcept i feel it takes MORE system Res than IE.
