I laughed when there were debates about the Ethics classes in primary schools and religious leaders were up in arms about an alternative being offered to Scripture. They were *fuming* about it and thought it was the greatest injustice the world had ever seen. A priest even said something along the lines of "ethics is pointless without a religious basis to build from". I'm of the opinion that no state school should have religious scriptures without every single other religion being offered in it and it being educational as opposed to a church sermon.

Yeah scripture classes were dumb, I'm probably more religious than anyone who was in my grade yet in years 5, 6, 7 and 8 I used to go to non scripture coz I got sick of all the fire and brimstone. Year 9 onwards I was catholic schooled so that was a bit more complex.
