I don't know if this is old news or not but there were 48 99.95er's this year.

So going by this system.. does that mean that 96 people got an atar of 99.9 and above?

I think so because each increment of 0.05 represents 48 students....correct me if i am wrong.

I think 99.95 has double the amount of people as 100 and 99.95 sorta got combined.

so 99.90 should have 24?

I'm pretty sure that's not the case. They didn't get combined. 99.95 as the highest mark is more logical because a percentile is defined as the percentage of people who got below you. Thus it's technically impossible to get 100.

But NSW had to change their system to be in harmony with the other states so it does make sense.
