wow, UOW increased their coverage to fields too?

and just to note. UOW wireless is free to students.
UOW has free access although whatever you use just comes out of your semester internet quota allowance which ITS is happy to increase whenever you want as long as you've been using it responsibly. So no porn or torrents. Coverage is superb with no problems experienced in the unibar, even when down next to the stage.

But then wouldn't people sit on it and download torrents?
ROFL that's what I was thinking.

Find a locker near a powerpoint, leave laptop in there all day on BT.... =]

As for the WinXP thing.. hmm... I heard it's possible to install Pro over Home (I have a SDK version of Pro) but I'm not sure if I really want to... >_> Although this all assumes I go to UTS. I should tell my mate about this though.

Nah they block ports and things.

However, since we have an entire Faculty of IT, many students love playing a game of cat and mouse with UTS where they circumvent the security mechanisms and download whatever they want for a few days, then the tech people find out and block that. Lather, rinse, repeat. It just goes to make UTS more secure really.

USYD is absolutelly free. All internal traffic (usyd sites, library, email etc) is free. However, external sites (www.gaysex.com etc) have a weekly quota. I forget what it is - 40MB maybe?
On top of that you pay a small fee per mb
