I'm never good with guessing what I ge in tests/assesmments. For example, in an SOR assessment earlier this year, I expected to get about 17/20, and got 13. Then in the English trials, Paper 2, I expected about 40/60, and got 50. I have no idea what bands I would have got in the externals.

I don't think anyone knows what they got in their externals yet. Our rough ideas are not reliable in any sense.

maybe not exactly, but some people can be pretty accurate in their perceptions of bands, especially if you've practiced enough or had a teacher who's been a HSC marker. e.g. for my Extension class we had to go over past responses, analyse flaws; all these exercises to improve our perception of essays. we learnt to really identify what constituted a 21/25, for example, as opposed to an 18/19.

Full marks in all externals.
This thread does not apply to my situation.

Really? I still think we have no idea what we are getting even if we may be confident etc. Especially for essays where it is so subjective.

yeah, maybe for English it is a bit unknown because the markers can be so biased. lucky people who do maths/science subjects where there is one right answer. although i'm usually pretty accurate in my predictions for Modern, Extension History and Society. i guess it all depends on the subject and your personal strengths really.

I guess you can say "oh I know I would'nt get lower than 60%" but putting it at a specific band is a bit...

I know that I never know how I did in an exam -- how I feel generally has more to do with the difficulty of the test rather than my actual performance in it.

Does anyone else find, "How did you go in your HSC?" one of the most frustrating questions ever? Is there actually a good answer for it? People keep looking at me funny when I say, "It could have been worse," even though I actually mean it in an optimistic way.

With those marks, you want to tutor someone? Not even a band 6 for eco.

0_0 different expectations I suppose but really, it is a bit weak for a tutor.
