As a teacher I too love the last week of Year 12 because it is a chance to relax with the students that I have been working with for often the last 6 years. It is always sad to see them go and know that they are going out into the 'big bad world' but it is a wonderful experience to see how they have grown and matured and to realise that you have played a very small part in that growth.

I too will shed a few tears on Thursday when I have my last lesson with this year's Year 12 group as they have been a great group. I did so last year and will probably do so again next year but I can say this - I don't know any teacher who doesn't enjoy the last week with Year 12.
awwwwww. Hey, since you're a teacher, i'd like to pose a question at you.

We've been threatened that if we engage in any 'bad behaviour' during next week, we'll be prevented from sitting the HSC. Do schools actually go through with that promise, or is it just a way to scare us into not wrecking the school's reputation?

I'm not planning on like breaking windows and doing anything of that sort, but instead maybe like shooting teachers with water guns and maybe throwing water balloons at them.

Out of respect, surely keep your muckup pranks to at least amongst the kids? Drench the juniors if you must, but is it necessary to make the teachers uncomfortable etc. for the rest of the day?

wth...if you really did that, you deserve to get some serious consequences, teachers are the people who have helped you throughout your schooling life, let alone your valuable HSC periods. That's such a horrible plan and I am sure teachers will not condone such an act.

Some schools do go through with it depending on what you do e.g. if you cause damage to the school or create uncomfortable situations which can a cause injury to someone e.g. putting slippery substances on stairways. OH&S is an area that schools have to take seriously so having students do certain things that may result in an unsafe workplace for employees can see the school, and principal in a lot of trouble.

My school has simply banned all activities like this and arranges other activities e.g. Thursday chapel service followed by BBQ at a nearby park. Friday morning they have a breakfast at a nearby students home, either walk to school or come in the school bus, have school assembly and then leave the school grounds.

I am quite enjoying the last few days of school because it is less about education and more about socialising because it is all coming to an end and the teachers are not really caring if we work they talk to us and we talk to our friends because everyone will miss everyone and 1 of my teachers has already started crying in class and graduation is not til friday.

i definitely thought it was worth it, it's your last chance to ask your teachers for help (in person) i mean you can go in during STUVAC but it's more tiresome when you don't HAVE to be at school. Also my engilsh teacher would just go ahead with lessons as always, he's a powerhouse, awesome guy and awesome teacher!

aside from that it's also the last time you'll ever be at school, and you will miss it when it's gone! Just go, be merry, frolick and cause havoc with your pals cos you won't have that chance again =]

I haven't been attending school for the past few weeks cos I got lazy. But I'm definitely attending everyday this week!

Today was a total bludge- skipped all my classes to take photos from 9AM til 3PM haha. Teachers don't care either
