I didnt make into modern history. But i hear one person's dropping out so hopefully theres still a chance i can make it. =]

school won't let me take 3u maths because i'm too stupid and so they put me in 2u, and i also had to take up chemistry because of that lost unit

In prelims, I couldn't drop Eco to pick up Physics, as I would have had to change EX1, bio and chem classes (which was pretty much everything except maths), and the EX1 class I would have had to change to was full.

However, I dropped EX1 to pick up Physics in the end (which only required the changing of bio classes), problem solved.

Just fight for it and ask for probation. Don't give up. I was Maths 7 at the start of last year (easily made 3U though - at top of Maths 7ish). Now I'm Maths 2. Just ask for probation (14U till half yearly). You'll still have to do Chem but if afterwards you pass both the 2U and 3U exams you can dorp it. He can't stop you if you keep fighting for it. That's what one of my friends did. He went from 8->7 because he promised to do well and he passed by more than 25%. Which is plenty in Maths.

When did your friend actually move up? like what part of the semester?

Couldn't get modern history, couldn't get economics (not running @ all) still could do it by distance, meaning 14U til some point of time, not so keen on two subjects (legal/ancient) so i still don't know what im gonna do. :/

Couldn't drop ext english to pick up ancient because the dep arranged the timetable around latin, which I'm doing. Meaning I can't change maths classes, because I'm offline. But, I'm not complaining that much because I have really good teachers this year.

My school only ran one Modern History class, which I wanted to take, but it ended up clashing with General Math, so I took Ancient History.
